Shopee opens its 1st distribution center in the Midwest – 02/25/2024 – Market

Shopee, an Asian marketplace platform, announced on Friday (23) the opening of its tenth distribution center in Brazil, in the metropolitan region of Goiânia, the company’s first in the Central-West region, strengthening its logistics network in the country.

The company already operates nine other distribution centers in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná, Minas Gerais, Bahia and Pernambuco. The most recent one had been opened in November last year, in Guarulhos, the company’s second largest in Brazil.

Like the company’s other warehouses, the Goiás center will operate on the “cross-docking” model, a model that restricts storage, so that the collected goods are already reorganized and sent for delivery to the end consumer.

“This opening represents a strategic step by Shopee to strengthen its logistics infrastructure, getting closer to collection points in the Federal District and Goiás, in addition to allowing a more efficient network connection and faster delivery speed for consumers throughout the Central region -West”, said Shopee’s director of expansion and logistics network, Rafael Flores.
