Serafim warns population to vaccinate against Influenza

The parliamentarian warned that many people are suffering from the disease and that councilors can help publicize the immunization campaign

Manaus (AM) – The morning of this Tuesday (09) was marked by the Great Expedient in the plenary Adriano Jorge of the City Council of Manaus (CMM). Among the topics discussed by the parliamentarians of the 18th Legislature was vaccination against Influenza, a topic raised by councilor Marcelo Serafim (PSB).

According to the parliamentarian, the councilors have a great instrument at hand, which are social networks, which in his perception can help to reinforce awareness of the importance of vaccination.

“We are on a vaccination campaign for a long time and our vaccine quantity is not fully used due to the lack of demand. When we arrive in the months of November, December and January, which is the peak of respiratory diseases, people go to the health units after the vaccine that they should have used in the months of April and May”, highlighted councilor Marcelo Serafim.

He also pointed out that the campaign has already been opened by the Municipal Secretary of Health (Semsa), and warned that many people are suffering from the disease and needing to take strong medication to combat its evolution.

“The population of Manaus needs to start using their right, which is vaccination. Influenza vaccination is indisputable. We have been running this campaign for a long time, priority groups are failing to get vaccinated due to lack of information, this cannot happen, ”he said.

The councilor stressed that parliamentarians need to use their entire chain of influence and communication to support this campaign.

Marcelo was supported by several parliamentarians who believe that social networks can be an instrument to encourage the immunization campaign in the city of Manaus, against respiratory diseases.

Councilor Dione Carvalho (Patriota) made himself available to cooperate with the campaign.

“Together we can make all the difference, especially on social media, promoting intensive prevention with the main objective of making users aware and taking the necessary vaccines”, he highlighted.

Public released for vaccination

Children from 6 months to 5 years old; pregnant women; postpartum women; indigenous villagers and residents of urban areas; health workers; seniors aged 60 and over; public and private school teachers; people with comorbidities; people with permanent disabilities; security and rescue forces; armed forces; truckers; collective transport workers; port workers; prison system officials; population deprived of liberty; adolescents in socio-educational measure.
