Senator Lucas announces resources to perform oncological and bariatric surgeries in Amapá – News of Brazil

Senator Lucas Barreto (PSD-AP), deputy leader of the PSD in the Senate, announced that he allocated more than R$ 8 million to carry out bariatric and oncological surgeries in Amapá. According to Lucas, the amount has already been paid in full to the State Health Fund of the Health Secretariat (Sesa) on August 31st.
According to the senator, of the total, more than R$ 4 million were allocated to the cost of the BariSUS program, whose execution was paralyzed. The other BRL 4 million were allocated to oncological surgeries for patients in the state health network. Due to the lack of clinical support and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the public network, these surgeries will be performed in the structure of Hospital São Camilo.
At the end of this Tuesday afternoon (5), Secretary Silvana Vedovelli, of Health, informed that the surgeries will be resumed in the coming days, assuring that the resources allocated by the senator will be used for this purpose. She said that she is in the final stages of carrying out oncological surgeries with Hospital São Camilo, as the contract for bariatrics is still in effect.
