Senator Marcos Rogério (PL-RO) went to the podium this Tuesday afternoon (4) to condemn the recent statements by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) against “principles and values of the Brazilian people”, especially in the Forum of São Paulo, held last week.
He highlighted the contradiction of the then PT candidate, who was committed to democratic freedoms, confronted with the posture of president.
“By saying that democracy is a relative concept, that one is proud to be called a communist and that one must fight to defend the family, customs and patriotism, Lula raises the question of whether he governs for Brazilians or serves a project of power linked to an ideology,” he said.
The parliamentarian lamented the articulation of the Brazilian State with dictatorships and the escalation of actions in the legal field against divergent opinions, particularly of religious ones. He was supported by Senator Magno Malta (PL-ES).
