Senate can contain STF? Senador Girão explains opposition strategies

Faced with activism and the extraordinary accumulation of power in the highest spheres of the Judiciary, a few opposition voices in the Senate today represent one of the last hopes of democracy. This is the theme of the program Capital Matter this Wednesday (28). Senator Eduardo Girão (Novo-CE) is the guest of journalists from People’s Gazette in Brasilia.
He was one of the only ones to publicly demonstrate against the appointment of Lula’s lawyer, Cristiano Zanin, to the STF and against the Court’s decision to carry out a search and seizure warrant against Senator Marcos do Val (Podemos-ES).
In a live interview, Girão discusses the opposition’s strategies to contain possible future abuses by the STF. Political analyst Leandro Gabiati, from political consultancy Dominium, will also participate in the debate.
“Capital Matter” is a live chat between journalists from People’s Gazette and parliamentarians, members of the Executive and analysts on the hottest policy issues of the week. It airs every Wednesday at 8 pm, directly from Brasilia.
