Selection is called up for the Paralympic Weightlifting World Championship – News of Brazil

The team that will represent Brazil in the Paralympic Weightlifting World Championship, scheduled to be held between the 22nd and 30th of August in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), is scheduled. Last Tuesday (27) the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB) announced the 23 athletes summoned for the competition in a broadcast on its YouTube channel and on its Facebook profile.
The Brazilian team is made up of athletes who reached the rates stipulated by the CPB in two selections: the 1st National Phase of the Loterias Caixa Circuit, in March, and the Brazilian Loterias Caixa Weightlifting Championship, in April. The two competitions were held at the Paralympic Training Center (TC), in São Paulo.
“This is a year with an intense calendar for the modality, with some athletes choosing which competitions to focus more on. Within that, the Worlds will be the most important and strongest competition of 2023, and an important step towards reaching the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games”declared the modality coordinator at CPB, Murilo Spina, during the live.
The athletes called up for the Worlds will gather at the Paralympic CT on August 17th and leave for Dubai at dawn on the 18th.
The World Cup is an obligatory stop for weightlifters looking for a place in the next edition of the Paralympic Games, which will be held in Paris in 2024. The eight best-placed athletes in each category in the modality ranking guarantee their place in the mega-event in France.
