See who the next STF ministers to retire will be

With the inauguration of the new minister of the Federal Supreme Court, Flávio Dino, this Thursday (22), the next vacancy on the Supreme Court will only be filled in 2028.
According to the retirement rule, the next minister to retire compulsorily will be Luiz Fux, when he turns 75 in 2028 – the maximum age to remain in the STF.
Next will be Minister Cármen Lúcia, who will leave the Supreme Court in April 2029. Flávio Dino, who joined the court, will only retire in 2043.
The minister who will remain in office the longest will be Cristiano Zanin, having assumed the position at the age of 48. With compulsory retirement, the minister guarantees almost 27 years of stay at the Court.
Due to their age, the next ministers to retire will be:
- Luiz Fux, aged 70, in April 2028
- Cármen Lúcia, aged 69, in April 2029
- Gilmar Mendes, aged 68, in December 2030;
- Edson Fachin, aged 66, in February 2033;
- Luís Roberto Barroso, aged 65, in March 2033
- Dias Toffoli, aged 56, in November 2042;
- Flávio Dino, aged 55, in April 2043
- Alexandre de Moraes, aged 55, in December 2043;
- Nunes Marques, aged 51, in May 2047;
- André Mendonça, aged 51, in December 2047
- Cristiano Zanin, aged 48, in November 2050.
