See who the deputies and senators are asking for the impeachment of Minister Barroso
[ad_1]
More than 60 deputies and 17 opposition senators signed the impeachment request against Minister Luiz Roberto Barroso, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), which was filed in the Senate this Wednesday morning (19).
The text, authored by Senator Jorge Seif (PL-SC) and Deputy Carlos Jordy (PL-RJ), questions the political statements made by the magistrate during an event of the National Union of Students (UNE) last week, in Brasilia. The expectation is that more deputies will sign the request.
The request maintains that Barroso committed a crime of responsibility provided for by Law 1079/1950, when engaging in party-political activity. Therefore, the parliamentarians understand that the minister should be prevented from his function through a process to be opened by the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG).

Anyone who behaves incompatible with the decorum of their duties or engages in party-political activity, among other actions, is liable to punishment.
