The Saudi Arabian Football Federation announced the increase in the limit of foreign players for next season. Now, clubs will be able to register 10 non-Saudi players, but only eight will be listed per match. The change will take effect from July 2024.

It is worth remembering that increasing the limit of foreign athletes was considered since the beginning of the season, since the Saudi League has a large investment, mainly in the four biggest clubs: Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahli . The current limit was eight athletes.

The Saudi Federation, however, has established some rules for the registration of non-Saudi players. Check out:

• Eight non-Saudi players can be registered with no age limit.

• Two non-Saudi players born since 2003, with the aim of increasing talent investment in clubs.

• Each club continues to have the right to register one professional player (born in Saudi Arabia), who must be born in 1998 or later.

With the previous limit of eight foreign athletes per team, Saudi Arabia was the second country that invested the most in the last transfer window, behind only England. It is worth remembering that the League will open a new transfer window in January.
