São Paulo studies PPP for popular housing – 06/14/2023 – Market

The government of São Paulo included in its concession program projects for the construction of 50,000 popular and social housing in the state, with expected investments of R$ 12 billion, also considering the revitalization and urban development of the regions that will receive the projects.

The State Public-Private Partnership Program (PPP) Management Council also authorized the preparation of feasibility studies for the concession of nine parks in the municipalities of São Paulo, Cotia and Santo André.

The government’s expectation is to attract up to R$ 200 million in investments and cut the annual expenditure of R$ 48 million with the maintenance of around 20 million square meters.

There are five parks located in the east zone of the capital —Belém-Manoel Pita (Belenzinho), Itaim Biacica (Vila Seabra), Vila Jacuí (União de Vila Nova), Parque Ecológico do Tietê (Vila Santo Henrique) and Helena (Jardim Helena)— , in addition to the Dom Paulo Evaristo Arns Youth Park (in Carandiru, in the north zone), Guarapiranga Ecological Park (south zone), Jequitibá Park (border between the capital and Cotia) and the Chácara da Baronesa State Park (Santo André).

In the area of ​​housing, the projects include the central area and the neighborhoods of Tiquatira, Itaquera, Guaianases and Lajeado in the city of São Paulo, in addition to areas in Arujá, Guarulhos, Itaquaquecetuba, Bragança Paulista, Campinas, Sumaré, Hortolândia and Guarujá.

A project for the implementation of actions in public areas owned by CDHU (Housing and Urban Development Company) was also included in the PPI-SP, with occupations in 23 cities in São Paulo.

The São Paulo Investment Partnerships Program currently has 17 proposals that can reach investments of up to R$ 192.3 billion, according to estimates by the state government.

Enterprises in the areas of education, culture, urban development and housing, lotteries, intercity road and waterway transport, highways, water resources and road infrastructure are on the list.

Among the projects are the installation of the Administrative Pole of the government of São Paulo in the Campos Elíseos district, central region of the capital of São Paulo, the concession of the Complexo do Ginásio do Ibirapuera, the construction of an underwater tunnel between Santos and Guarujá and the concession of the lines 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 of the CPTM and Metro lines.

There are also technical pre-feasibility studies for the privatization of Sabesp (Basic Sanitation Company of the State of São Paulo).
