Folkloric groups in the city drive an expressive production chain

To promote the cultural production chain, Manaus City Hall is supporting “São João Amazonese”. The official opening of the event took place on Saturday night (16), at the Vitória-Régia samba school court, in the Praça 14 de Janeiro neighborhood, South zone.

The event promotes presentations by folk groups participating in the gold, silver and bronze categories of the Amazonas Folklore Festival, in addition to the meeting of young people from all dance categories and neighborhoods of Manaus with the aim of promoting unity and diversity of styles, establishing connections and exchange of artistic experiences.

The Director of Culture at ManausCult, Wallace Almeida, highlights that the city’s folkloric groups drive an expressive production chain and that encouragement from the city hall is important for the execution and cultural dissemination of these groups.

“The city hall has done an excellent job in supporting folklore groups, promoting and providing resources so that these folklore groups can carry out their work, the June festivals, in addition to bringing structure to the most diverse and distant places in our city, to also carry out the folk festival in their neighborhoods”, explains Almeida.

This year, Manaus City Hall will be holding the 66th edition of the Amazonas Folklore Festival in the silver and bronze categories, in addition to supporting neighborhood folk festivals, with events that will reach the entire city of Manaus.
