This Sunday morning (29), sailor Adrielly Carvalho was found alive after having a problem with her kitesurfing equipment and disappearing on the Amazon River, during the 6th edition of the Amazon River Crossing, which took place on Saturday (28) .
The event is promoted by the Association of Sailors of Amapá (AVAP) and consists of crossing from one side of the Amazon River to the other and on this route the sailor, who participated in the crossing for the first time, had a problem with equipment and was left far away. of the other participants, leaving them adrift in Rio.
“This test was long. She left the front of the city (Orla do Perpétuo Socorro) and went around the other side of the River and came back and at that moment, upon her return, her equipment went off and she fell, becoming adrift”, said the sailor, Eliton Franco .
The Amapá Sailors Association rented a boat to search for Adrielly during the night and in the morning, the Air Tactical Group (GTA) began work and found the sailor alive.
“When it was 6am, in the first rays of the sun, our helicopter took off to carry out the initial search. There was a lot of smoke, which made it a little difficult, but after 2 hours of searching, we found it. As we had little fuel, we took the coordinates and passed them on to the teams that were on boats to rescue the kitesurfer. She was fine”, said one of the GTA members.
