When he was hired in 2021, the striker made a deal that would come out if he received an offer he couldn’t refuse from outside the country, which is precisely what happened. Even with the club willing to double his salary and buy the 60% belonging to the striker, the values were not even close to those offered by the Qatari team.
No going out the back door, though. Róger Guedes made a point of thanking everyone and revealing his desire for a return in the future. “I always gave my best for the club and I hope one day to be able to return. My affection goes to everyone, to the fans, who always treated me very well, to all the club’s employees, to the players, who I have enormous affection and helped me at this moment” , thanked.
He took the opportunity to reinforce that Duílio knew about his plans since his arrival and that he is not abandoning Corinthians. “I’m very happy, signing with a team from Qatar, Al-Rayyan. It was a dream that I had to play there and Duílio and Corinthians knew from the moment I arrived”, he emphasized. “I decided with my family that it would be the best thing for me at the moment.
