President of the Chamber of Deputies between 2016 and 2021, Rodrigo Maia assumes this Thursday (2) the presidency of the CNF (National Confederation of Financial Institutions), which brings together some of the main entities in the sector.
He will have a three-year term and will represent the confederation in discussions on the country’s economic agenda.
“We are experiencing an unprecedented revolution in the sector, in all segments. The financial ecosystem is a great lever for development. We need to dialogue with the Powers and society”, says Maia, who did not run in the election last year, after six consecutive terms as a federal deputy.
CNF was created in 1985. Among its members are Febraban (Brazilian Federation of Banks), B3, Anbima (Brazilian Association of Financial and Capital Market Entities), ABBC (Brazilian Association of Banks), Abecip (Brazilian Association of Real Estate Credit and Savings), ABBI (Brazilian Association of International Banks), Abel (Brazilian Association of Leasing Companies), Ancord (National Association of Stockbrokers) and Abecs (Brazilian Association of Credit Card and Services Companies).
After leaving the presidency of the Chamber, Maia was appointed state secretary in São Paulo in the government of João Doria, in a folder responsible for investments and partnerships with the private sector.
