Roberto Cidade has two new laws on the protection of women and the generation of employment and income sanctioned

A ensures the right of women to be notified in advance when there is relaxation of a measure of deprivation of liberty

Manaus (AM) — Two new laws, proposed by state deputy Roberto Cidade (União Brasil), were sanctioned this week by Governor Wilson Lima. The first, nº 6.290/2023, guarantees more protection to women victims of violence, ensuring the right to be notified in advance, when there is relaxation of a measure of deprivation of liberty or urgent protective measure by the aggressor.

“Our main intention is to protect the woman, who has already suffered violence, so that she does not become a victim again after the aggressor is released, simply for not knowing that he was released and being caught by surprise. The idea is to make prior communication, by physical or electronic means, an obligation of the State. This can help to save and protect lives, because many times, the victim does not know that his aggressor has been released and may threaten him again. Unfortunately, we see many aggressors who, even after being penalized by the Justice, return to social life and commit the same crime again. This Law is a reinforcement of the Maria da Penha Law, since it extends the protection to women, to the family”

The law provides that the responsible judicial authority must take the necessary steps to ensure that the communication to the victim is carried out in advance or concomitantly with the act of relaxation of the measure of deprivation of liberty or of the urgent protective measure.

The second law enacted aims to regulate commercial food activities on the street, in vehicles such as trailers, vans, trucks and similar vehicles, known as “food trucks”. Law nº 6.292/2023 aims to stimulate and regulate this type of activity, aiming to boost the market and heat up the economy, in addition to encouraging the state to establish the State Gastronomic Fair.

“The proposal creates the State Policy to Incentive Gastronomic Fairs and the Sale of Food in Food Trucks, encouraging the movement of trade in processed or in-process foods, aimed at meals and quick snacks, through these adapted vehicles, and also promote events that can stimulate various fronts of rural production and other trade activities, in addition to keeping entrepreneurs trained and updated in investment management. The strengthening of our economy needs to come from the most diverse fronts, with the opening of new formats and spaces that need support and regularization. This makes it possible for new forms of entrepreneurship to emerge and remain”

According to the proposal, the permission to operate and market food, through “food trucks”, to be issued by the competent authority, must observe the existence of adequate physical space to serve consumers safely and the adequacy of the equipment regarding the health and food safety standards in force in relation to the products to be marketed.
The legislation also has, as a purpose, the implementation of a fixed monthly calendar, valid for all cities in Amazonas, for the event called “State Food Fair”.

“It is important to point out that an event of this segment not only offers an alternative entertainment option for the Amazonian population, but also provides, above all, opportunities for new business to be done for entrepreneurs in our region. This is good for the capital and for other municipalities in the state, which gain more economically viable quality space”
