The governor of Amapá, Clecio Luis (SOLIDARITY) plans to double the planted area in the state by next year, since the resumption of large-scale agriculture in six months of management already represents something close to 33%. The announcement was made this Saturday (5th) during a program called Dia de Campo, at the Agro Tartarugal farm, in Tartarugalzinho (AP) – 228 kilometers from Macapá – which started this year’s soy harvest.
The industry in question organized the 2023 Festa da Colheita for the first soy harvest this year in the region. The farm’s best productivity had been recorded in 2014, in 1,000 hectares of planted area, which guaranteed productivity of 50 bags per hectare.
“Now that we know the climate here better, which is really good because it is well defined between the luminosity we have here and the rainfall every year, we should increase our productivity this year to something around 56 bags per hectare ”designs Marcos Lewandowski, one of the property managers.
And optimism is not for nothing. The Secretary for Rural Development, Kelson Vaz, explains that the best year for the grain market in Amapá was 2020, when the planted area reached 20,500 hectares, totaling 54,000 tons of soybeans, with productivity of 38 bags per hectare. “Now just with the municipalities that have already started harvesting this year, such as Macapá, Tartarugalzinho and Porto Grande, we will reach 6,750 hectares of planted area, with a production of 18,000 tons, so surely if we maintain this footprint, Amapá will break the historical record of soybean production in up to three years”celebrate empty.
The governor Clecio Luis he said that he called on the entire secretariat of the economic sector to follow this evolution of agriculture on a scale, also supporting family farming and announcing to the four corners that Amapá is indeed open to unlocking the productive sector and attracting new investors.
“The thing will happen; my coming here is to infect the government, we need everyone to see what is happening, because we have no other alternative and that it is good to have agro, that is, large-scale agriculture, producing corn, soy, beans , in short, everything is necessary for other production chains, such as psychology for example, because family farming is what puts food on our table”, completed the governor.
