Renato Gaúcho calls for an end to speculation about Suarez: “Enough”

Grêmio defeated Atlético-MG by 1 to 0, and jumped to the vice-leadership of the Brasileirão, but the subject involving striker Luis Suárez returned to irritate coach Renato Gaúcho.

Renato Gaúcho avoided nailing the attacker’s presence in the semifinal of the Copa do Brasil, which will be played this Wednesday, at 21:30, against Flamengo, at Arena do Grêmio, and left the decision in the hands of the Uruguayan striker himself.

“Suárez, when he wants to play, he talks to me. For Wednesday, it will depend on him. Do I have to speak for him? Ask him. Then we are in the middle of the shooting. Until Wednesday, there are four days. Until the 2nd, this soap opera will end. Control of this soap opera will come to my hand after the 2nd”, he said.

With severe pain in his knee, Suárez does not rule out retirement from football. The striker, however, would have been excited about the possibility of playing alongside Lionel Messi, his former Barcelona teammate and old friend, at Inter Miami. Grêmio has yet to officially and decisively comment on the athlete’s future.

Despite not having Suárez, Grêmio had a convincing victory over Atlético-MG and took the second place in the Brasileirão, with 29 points.
