The National Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock (CNA) assesses that the relationship between agribusiness, responsible for almost a quarter of the Brazilian Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and the government was better under the management of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) than under of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). “There were more ministers linked to the class,” said the entity’s president, João Martins, at a CNA event in Brasília this Wednesday (6).
On the other hand, he believes that the Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Fávaro, “has done a good job” in this first year of government, highlighting the maintenance of the policy of opening markets to Brazilian production that comes from previous governments. “Until the 5th, 73 markets were opened”, he said.
Martins also reported that the CNA has had conversations with the technical team of the Ministry of the Environment, but that there has been no contact with Minister Marina Silva.
