Abraji (Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism) is open for registration for the first module of the free course Independent Journalism: How to develop sustainable journalistic projects, carried out in partnership with Meta.
The first module, called “Inspirators”, will have the participation of eight journalists. Among the eight guests are Pedro Doria, columnist for CBN radio, Natalia Viana, founder of Agência Pública, and Julia Angwin, opinion writer for The New York Times. Lectures will be online and will be available on Abraji’s course platform during the month of May.
The course will have two other modules. The second, called “Entrepreneurs”, takes place in June and will feature creators of Brazilian digital initiatives reporting on the challenges and solutions found by their projects.
The third module, “Creators”, will be longer and will offer tools for producing journalistic content, managing relationships with communities and stakeholders, and economic sustainability.
Participants who complete the three modules will receive a certificate and will be able to apply for a grant of U$ 2,500 (R$ 12,500), in addition to receiving mentoring for five months with market specialists.
Entries for the first module are open until April 25th and can be done using this form.
