Receivables: money is returned to almost 5 million – 04/10/2023 – Market

Almost five million requests have already been made to the Central Bank’s System of Receivables, according to data released this Monday (10th) by the institution.

In total, until Sunday (9), 4.8 million requests were made to receive back amounts that were forgotten in banks, financial institutions or other institutions. The amount redeemed is R$ 342.2 million since the release of the system on March 7th.

The BC reported that there were 122.2 million queries to the SVR, which can be done at any time, on the website valorareceber.bcb.gov.br. The query is made with CPF and date of birth, for individuals, or with CNPJ and company opening date, for legal entities.

To receive, however, you must have a Gov.br account at silver or gold level. Otherwise, the taxpayer must request the amounts directly from the financial institution where the money was stopped.

In this period, the highest amount made available to an individual was R$749.5 thousand, while the record for a legal entity reached almost R$3.3 million (R$3,298,032.85).

According to the BC, in all, there were R$ 6 billion available for 40.9 million individuals and companies when the rescue began, in March.

How to get forgotten money

Citizen needs to have Pix key. It is also possible to pay by DOC (Credit Document) or TED (Available Electronic Transfer). In these cases, the money falls into the account within 12 business days. There are, however, institutions that have not signed the “Term of Adhesion”, which makes it necessary to request a withdrawal directly from the bank or financial institution.

Although some people have managed to access high amounts, most will receive up to R$ 10. According to the Central Bank, more than 29 million individuals and companies will withdraw smaller amounts.

Who can have money forgotten in banks and finance companies?

Any individual or legal entity that has had a relationship with banks or finance companies at some point may be entitled to the amounts receivable.

Where do the values come from?

The money to be returned by the institutions refers to:

  • Closed checking or savings accounts with available balance
  • Capital quotas and apportionment of net surpluses of former members of credit unions
  • Unsought resources from closed consortium groups
  • Unduly charged fees
  • Installments or expenses of credit operations charged
  • Closed pre- or post-pay payment accounts with available balance
  • Registration accounts held by brokerage and dealerships closed with available balance
  • Other resources available at institutions for return

How do heirs get access to money?

It is necessary to consult with the data of the person who died and then access the SVR system with the Gov.br silver or gold account of the heir. The money must be requested from the financial institution.

It will be necessary to present documents that prove the bond. In general, the documents are death certificates, proof of registration status in the CPF and other documents issued by a notary or by the Judiciary that prove the kinship that register, file or fulfill the will, that indicate the applicant as executor, or even that give attorney powers.

The type of document to be presented will be the responsibility of the bank or finance company.

Why do I need to be in a queue?

In the first phase of the return of receivables, the citizen consulted the SVR and the system informed that he should return at a future date to request the return. Now there is no need to go back another day.

However, in order not to run the risk of the system not supporting the total number of accesses, redirection is made to a virtual waiting room whenever the maximum capacity of the Central Bank’s computers is reached.

In the room or queue, the system will inform how many people are ahead and the expected waiting time.

How do I request amounts to be received?

How do I know I’m not being the victim of a scam with receivables?

BC warns that the only site where you can consult and find out how to request the return of your values, your company or deceased persons is valuesareceber.bcb.gov.br and that all services on the portal are free. If someone offers and charges for consultation services, it is a scam.

The Central Bank also does not send links or contact you to deal with receivables or confirm data. Only the institution that appears in the system can contact the customer, but it cannot ask for passwords.

Do not access suspicious links sent via email, SMS, WhatsApp or other messaging apps.
