For the senator Randolfe Rodrigues, Macapá International Airport, which since 2022 has been under the management of the company Norte Amazônia Airports, NOA, does not provide satisfactory services for travelers and employees.
The parliamentarian said this Monday morning, the 15th, in the ‘LuizMeloInterview’ (Diário FM 90.9)which among the complainants’ reports include flight cancellations or postponements and equipment malfunctions, in addition to air conditioning being turned off, which employees say is to save electricity.
The senator stated that he will work, from today onwards, with the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) and the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac), to end the NOA management concession which, according to him, is not providing the service necessary to assist travelers arriving or leaving the state.
“Failed”, said Randolfe, regarding the privatization of Macapá International Airport. The senator wants the reinstatement of management for Infraero, a Brazilian federal public company with indirect administration linked to the Ministry of Infrastructure, whose function is to provide infrastructure and airport and air navigation services.
In his speech, Randolfe recorded that he, as well as other passengers, were unable to board to their destinations, as the device that assists in the landing of aircraft is malfunctioning, which resulted in cancellations of trips since 3am this Monday, 15th. The senator denounced that the device has been in this situation for at least two weeks.
Randolfe Rodrigues reported that in addition to people from Macapá, people from outside the state, who came to take the exam at the State University of Amapá (Ueap), this past Sunday, the 14th, were also affected by the disorder. “Azul and Latam flights were canceled, or at least postponed”he lamented.
The senator pointed out that the management company has not yet provided any type of satisfaction. He also said that the space at Macapá International Airport is deteriorated, and that escalators and elevators are not working. “The level of disrespect reached the limit of absurdity”concluded the senator.
