Senator Randolfe Rodrigues visited the Itinerários da Independência exhibition this Saturday morning (25). The truck-museum project, which is on show in Macapá this weekend, was developed by the Federal University of Minas Gerais, the Federal Senate and the Special Curating Commission for the Bicentennial, in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Brazil’s Independence.
Macapá was included in the museum-truck route after articulation between Senator Randolfe and the Government of Amapá, through the Secretary of State for Culture. Amapá is the first state in the North region to receive the exhibition.
During the visit, Senator Randolfe spoke with students from the Maria do Socorro Andrade State School and told curiosities about the Independence process. “Unfortunately female participation has been erased throughout history. The truth is that the Independence of Brazil was not only for Dom Pedro, José Bonifácio and Joaquim Gonçalves Ledo, but for Maria Quitéria, Maria Leopoldina, among many other strong women who played a primordial role in the process of Independence”, Randolph pointed out.
The Republic Project researcher, Marcela Telles, explains that the purpose of the exhibition is to promote a debate with society about the facts that made us reach the Independence of Brazil. “This story goes beyond the banks of the Ipiranga. We tell you how the process was in the different provinces, as states were called in the 19th century. We tell everything from various interactive and playful environments, ranging from a simple photograph to augmented reality”, highlighted the researcher.
Randolfe also points out that it is the union of efforts that changes the lives of the population. “Knowledge is liberating. I am thrilled to be part of this project and to be able to work to bring it to Amapá! I am sure that whoever visits the exhibition will be enchanted”, finished.
The Itinerários da Independência exhibition is in Macapá until this Sunday (26th), at 8 pm, in front of Casa do Artesão.
