Randolfe launches ‘100 voices for democracy’ and brings the Senate Editorial Board to ‘Folia Literária’ – News of Brazil

Senator Randolfe Rodrigues, president of the Editorial Board of the Federal Senate (Cedit), will launch the book ‘100 voices for democracy’, Saturday, 28th, at 6pm, during the Folia Literária Internacional do Amapá program, in Parque do Forte, in Macapá.
The senator set up a stand inside the ‘Literary City’, created for the event, where there will be free distribution of copies of books published by the institution.
According to Randolfe, 13 titles will be donated by Cedit. “We are going to take our production from the Federal Senate to the people of Amapá. With this we will have the launch of ‘100 Voices for Democracy’, of which I have the honor of being part”, commented Senator Randolfe, to complete: “We will also have the distribution of Vade Mecum, which is very important for law students and public candidates”.
The activity aims to encourage reading and democratize access to books. The event is also part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the creation of the former federal territory of Amapá.
The International Literary Folia is held by the government of Amapá. The event is supported by Senator Randolfe Rodrigues and marks the resumption, after ten years, of literary festivals in the state.
Cedit
The Editorial Board was created in 1997. It is a normative body responsible for formulating and implementing the editorial policy of the Federal Senate. This sector is responsible for publishing fundamental works of Brazilian culture of an economic, social, political and historical nature.
100 Voices for Democracy
The book 100 voices for democracy was organized by Fernando Guimarães Rodrigues, general coordinator of Rights Já! Forum for Democracy.
The work brings together the current President and Vice-President of the Republic, more than two dozen senators and former senators, federal deputies and former federal deputies, as well as several intellectuals and personalities from Brazilian society.
Among others, senators Randolfe Rodrigues and Tasso Jereissati and senator Simone Tebet stand out; deputies Erika Kokay, Fernanda Melchionna and Tábata Amaral, deputy Fábio Trad and former deputy Fernando Gabeira; personalities and intellectuals such as José Gregori; Leci Brandão; Luciano Huck and Leonardo Sakamoto.
