On Monday (24), the Ambassador of Portugal, Luís Faro, lands in Amapá. He comes to the State at the invitation of Senator Randolfe Rodrigues, to participate in the traditional Festa de São Tiago, in Mazagão.
“The idea is to strengthen ties with Portugal and close possible partnerships aimed mainly at the development of the municipality of Amapa”, said the senator.
The parliamentarian, visiting the Moroccan Ambassador, guaranteed a sponsorship of the Moroccan company OCP in the amount of R$ 50,000, in addition to proposing that Mazagão become a kind of sister city of El Jadida, with the aim of deepening economic and cultural relations.

The festival of São Tiago completes 246 years this year, it is one of the most traditional in the state. Considered is one of the greatest expressions of popular culture. It takes place in July, with religious rituals, cavalhada and open-air theater that tells the story of São Tiago.
