This Saturday (21), Senator Randolfe Rodrigues visited municipalities in the interior of the state that have suffered from the increase in fires and dry rivers. Agriculture, fishing, health and mobility are the areas most affected. The delegation, led by governor Clécio Luís, brought humanitarian aid with basic food baskets, water and fuel to serve the most affected populations.

Randolfe announced that the R$325,000 resource for the municipalities of Tartarugalzinho, Pracuúba and Amapá is already in the city halls’ accounts. “These resources are for the social assistance of the municipalities and can be used for the emergency situation they face”, stated the senator.

During the signing of the state of emergency decrees, and the creation of the Amapá hydrological and climatic events crisis committee, the senator also announced the allocation of a parliamentary amendment, worth R$ 2.5 million for the state government to combat fire outbreak rates and provide humanitarian aid.

“This amount will help us minimize the damage, but we need to put into practice public policies that mitigate the impacts of climate change, which are already a reality in the Amazon”, highlighted Senator Randolfe.
