Next Wednesday (13), at 9am, the second stage of the revitalization of the Macapá Central Market, which turns 70 years old, will be delivered. The work is the result of an amendment worth R$1.3 million allocated by senator Randolfe Rodrigues.
The project was carried out by the Municipality of Macapá (PMM) with the construction of 42 new boxes for entrepreneurs to develop their economic activities in the external area of the Market.
“In 2020 we delivered the first stage of the Central Market to the people of Macapá, a project that respects our history, our identity and promoting the economy”, Randolfe said.
The senator was the author of the R$2.5 million amendment that revitalized and expanded the interior of the place, in the first phase.
Central Market
The Market was opened in 1953, by then governor Janary Nunes and mayor Claudomiro de Moraes. It is one of the most important historical points in the State. Considered a kind of “mall” at the time, a place for shopping and meetings, now a space to promote tourism and business.
