Raiff Matos joins bill that prevents children from participating in the LGBTQIAP+ Pride Parade

Manaus (AM) — On LGBTQIA+ Pride Day, councilor Raiff Matos (DC) introduced Bill 381/2023 that prohibits the participation of children and adolescents in “LGBTQIAP+ Pride Parade” In Manaus. The PL indicates the payment of a fine arbitrated by the supervisory body for non-compliance with the prohibition.

Councilman Raiff Matos’ intention with the PL is to avoid exposing children to this type of event.

“We cannot allow children to participate in a demonstration like the one that took place in SP. It’s immoral. It is totally unacceptable to expose children to this type of event.”

said the councilor during the People’s Tribune “365 Days of Protection – All Together Against Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse”authored by councilor Daniel Vasconcelos.

According to the Bill, the obligation to guarantee the absence of children at the LGBTQIAP+ Pride Parade event is jointly and severally between the organizers of the event, sponsors and the parents or guardians of the child or adolescent. The Municipal Government, in turn, must undertake all the necessary means to protect children and adolescents, expanding the alert of violation of any of their rights to the reporting channels, observing the provisions of the legislation.

The councilor recalled that he has been acting as a defender of the family in the City Council of Manaus, seeking to protect mainly children.

“I’ve been raising the flag of the fruit that is the main treasure of a family. The greatest inheritance that God gives to a couple. Many of my propositions seek to guarantee the protection of children and adolescents here in Manaus”

said the alderman.
