Race at Floripa airport will have check-in, X-ray and run between landings and takeoffs – 04/26/2023 – Na Corrida

When enrolling in a race, the runner does not just buy the right to run a certain route and win a medal at the end. The athlete is buying an experience, which begins at the time of registration, goes through the collection of the race kit and ends in the race arena. For the organizer, almost as important as offering water and isotonic drinks during the race is to create inviting and conducive spaces for socializing before and after the race. I myself know amateur athletes who spend more time enjoying the post-race than running.

More than a race, Night Run Floripa Airport is intended to be an experience. The first edition of the race takes place this Saturday (29) at the Hercílio Luz International Airport, in Florianópolis, and will have 1,200 athletes in courses of 5 km and 10 km.

At Night Run Floripa Airport, the experience begins with picking up the kits, which takes place at the airport’s own counters and emulates the check-in process of a trip. In addition to a t-shirt, bib number and timing chip, athletes will receive a boarding pass that will give access to the starting area.

Before the start, the athletes go through the airport security inspection area to access the boarding. From there, each athlete goes to their gate, according to the distance to be covered in the race.

The courses go around the landing and take-off runways. In the 10 km race, the athletes will also pass in front of the old passenger terminal. And all this happens with the airport in operation, with landings and takeoffs on the other runways.

Those who finish the race receive participation medals in the baggage claim area.
