Another 19% cite support for the name of the governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema (Novo); survey was carried out with 94 online interviews with people from investment funds based in SP and RJ
If ex-president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) cannot run for office in the 2026 elections, 74% of those interviewed state that he should support the name of the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), for the Planalto Palace, according to the research Genial/Quaest, released this Wednesday (12).
For 19%, the candidate who should be supported is the governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema (Novo). Former First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL) has 1%. “None of these” gets 5%. The answer “other” has 1%.
94 online interviews were conducted with people from investment funds based in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, between the 6th and 10th of July. The target audience were managers, economists, analysts and decision makers in the financial market.
In the first evaluation on the subject, in May, the result was: Tarcísio: 66%; Zema: 25%; Flávio Bolsonaro: 3%; and Michelle Bolsonaro: 1%. “None of these” had 3% and “other” was 1%.
After a decision by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Bolsonaro was declared ineligible until 2030. His defense can still appeal to the TSE itself and also to the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
Regarding whether there will be a viable candidate in the 2026 election that is not linked to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) or Bolsonaro, 57% answered no and 43% said yes.
