Data from the Annual Social Information List (Rais) of 2022, released this Friday (15) by the Ministry of Labor, show that the income of the Federal District represents the highest in Brazil. And that of Amapá is the second best in the country.
The average salary of workers with a formal contract in the Federal District is R$6,800. The one that contributes most to the increase in average salaries is the public sector.
Amapá is in second place with an average of R$4,700, followed by São Paulo, where the average is R$4,300.
The Central-West is the region with the highest average salary, R$4,400. Next comes the Southeast, with R$4,000; and the South, with R$3.7 thousand. The North recorded an average income of R$3,600, while the Northeast came in last, with R$3,000.
In 2022, Brazil registered 52.8 million formal jobs. Among these, 48.7 million were already in the Annual Social Information List (Rais) for 2021. The remaining 2.3 million correspond to the growth between the two years. This expansion of the link base was driven by the increase in Rais coverage.
Comparing this data with that of previous years is not possible due to a change in data collection methodology between 2022 and the previous year. The change in the collection method resulted in an increase in Rais’ coverage base.
One of the reasons for this change was the transition of establishments taxed by Simples Nacional. Previously, they provided information through a specific portal. Now, they have started to use E-Social, a platform that unifies the sending of tax, social security and labor data by companies.
