Initiative aims to offer training courses for socially vulnerable families assisted by SEMAS

Benjamin Constant (AM) – To encourage entrepreneurship and guarantee income for families at risk and/or social vulnerability, the City Hall of Benjamin Constant, in partnership with Sebrae Amazonas, through the Cidade Empreendedora program, will officially launch the project on August 25 “Entrepreneurial Citizen”, which aims to offer professional qualification courses and financial incentives for socially vulnerable families in the territory that are assisted by the Municipal Social Assistance Secretariat (SEMAS).

With the training scheduled to start on August 28, registrations were carried out between July and August. Totaling 167 subscribers, 42 for the sweet and savory course; 40 enrolled for the sandal customization workshop; 37 people signed up for barbecue improvement training; 15 subscribers for shirt customization; 12 registered for regional coffee; 11 for baking and 10 for homemade soap. According to the announcement, applicants will go through qualification stages, the first being the courses, followed by guidance on customer service, financial organization and pricing. There will be 45 courses offered.

For Mayor David Nunes Bemerguy, the public notice for the “Entrepreneurial Citizen” project is an interconnected chain of economic development. “In this way, we will drive growth in our city, resulting in the formalization of new businesses and the creation of income opportunities. With this, we will be able to reduce the social inequalities present in our municipality”, comments the mayor.

In total, financial and material resources in the order of R$ 340,000 will be granted, with the donation of equipment and/or materials, with amounts ranging from R$ 500 to R$ 4,000, for formal and informal undertakings in the areas industry, commerce and services, as long as entrepreneurs are benefited by SEMAS.

According to the manager of the territory of Alto Solimões do Sebrae/AM, Karina Carvalho, the project aims to promote entrepreneurship as an important tool for the socioeconomic development of the families that will be assisted, as well as being an incentive for the opening of new small businesses in the city.

“Cidade Empreendedora is working in Benjamin Constant to positively impact the lives of the population of the municipality, so the Cidadão Empreendedor project is here to encourage. We will act first with training and direct entrepreneurs and future entrepreneurs to grant resources, equipment and materials”,

explains the manager, who also points out that both the municipal secretariat and Sebrae/AM will accompany the entrepreneurs.

“There will be more than 45 training courses, with several classes and we will carry out intensive monitoring, from the first stage of professionalization to the process for financial and material resources. The students will also leave the project with certification”,

the manager adds that it is necessary for interested parties to comply with the obligations and responsibilities that are set out in the public notice.

The Cidadão Empreendedor project will offer a training trail structured in several stages. In the first phase, students enrolled in one of the initial courses, such as “Sweets and Salted Foods” or “Customization of Shirts and Sandals”. Subsequently, they will be trained in topics such as “Customer Service”, “Financial Education”, “Sales Price Formation”, “Hygiene and Food Handling”, “Women Entrepreneur Workshop”, “Financial Management for Services” and “Visual Identity for Service Companies”.

Progress on the trail will require completion of all of these courses. Once all training is completed, students will be eligible to apply for funding. This approach aims not only to provide practical and specialized knowledge, but also to direct entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs to obtain the necessary financial and material resources. In addition, the training trails aim to prepare participants to establish new ventures in the municipality.

The training will have a workload of 4h to 20 hours/class, scheduled to take place from August 28th to October 31st. The courses offered are: customizing shirts, customizing sandals, traditional regional coffee, homemade and industrial baking, homemade soap, improving barbecue, sweets and snacks, how to better serve your customers, financial education workshop, sales price formation, hygiene and food handling, Entrepreneur Woman workshop, financial management for services, visual identity for service companies.
