The challenges faced by residents of the Macapaba housing complex, located on BR-210, North Zone of Macapá, will be discussed in a public hearing that will take place at the Legislative Assembly (Alap), scheduled for the 4th of August.
“Macapaba is one of the main housing developments in the State of Amapá. With a population of almost 30 thousand residents, the place has faced several challenges that directly impact the quality of life and well-being of these citizens”, justifies the author of the proposal, deputy Paulo Nogueira (PT). The event must be attended by representatives of the group and the entire interested community.
Among the challenges faced by the residents of the complex are the lack of adequate infrastructure such as the distribution of water and sewage, problems related to public safety, the absence of basic services, such as health and education, in addition to the precariousness of public transport in the region. .
The set was delivered in two stages: the first took place in 2014 and the second in 2017, totaling 4,300 homes, including apartments and houses. The development is part of the Minha Casa Minha Vida II Program, aimed at the low-income population and in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability, with 400 families victims of the Perpétuo Socorro fire, which occurred in 2013.
The distribution of water, for example, is insufficient and irregular, which causes difficulties in the daily supply and in the basic needs of the residents. In addition, the basic sanitation, especially the sewage system, has deficiencies with precarious conditions of hygiene and health for the inhabitants of the complex.
“Considering the identity of these issues and the need to seek effective solutions to the problems currently faced, holding a Public Hearing is justified. This space for dialogue and debate between representatives of the legislative, executive and judicial powers, as well as civil society, will be essential to identify the most urgent demands and promote effective actions for the benefit of the community”concluded the deputy Paul Nogueira.
