PT wants Lula in the reinauguration of leadership deprecated by coup plotters in the Chamber – 01/22/2023 – Panel

The PT invited president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and other former party leaders to the re-inauguration of the PT leadership’s office in the Chamber, which will take place on the 30th, at 4 pm.
The space was vandalized by coup plotters who invaded Congress on January 8, in attacks that are investigated by the Federal Police and the STF (Federal Supreme Court).
CCTV footage from the Chamber shows a vandal smashing the lead glass door with a fire extinguisher and a crowbar. According to PT members, the coup leaders broke the office windows to enter the premises.
Inside, they tore up papers, in addition to smashing a television and computers. The vandals made a bonfire with the party’s flag and paintings with historical images of the PT.
In the days following the attacks, shards of glass were removed from the lead, which was then cleaned. The burnt paintings were reconstituted and hung up again. However, some windows have not yet been reinstalled — pieces of wood seal the spaces.
“Certainly, the terrorists had a clear objective when they went to the PT’s leadership office in the Chamber. The history and ideals of our party represent what they most abhor. We are proudly the antithesis of fascist and terrorist ideals”, affirms the leader of the PT in the House, Reginaldo Lopes (MG).
“Reinaugurating our little PT corner in Congress, updated with new images of our trajectory, is the answer to the enemies of democracy.”
In addition to being the biggest name in the party, Lula was invited because he held the PT leadership in the Chamber from February 1, 1987 to December 14, 1988.
