PT-SP says that Nunes tries to cover up support for the coup – 02/20/2024 – Panel

President of the PT’s municipal directory in São Paulo, Laércio Ribeiro denies that Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) is avoiding speaking out regarding the comparison made by Lula (PT) between Israel’s attacks in the Gaza Strip and the Holocaust, as the critics of the federal deputy.

This Tuesday (20), the president of the MDB-SP, Enrico Misasi, criticized the psolist’s statement that he is not a candidate for mayor of Tel Aviv, which he classified as immoral and cowardly, and highlighted that he used the same method not to mention the Venezuelan dictatorship in 2020, when he stated that he was not a pre-candidate for mayor of Caracas.

Misasi is a party colleague of the capital’s mayor, Ricardo Nunes, who will have Boulos as a competitor in this year’s election.

“Boulos spoke yesterday [segunda-feira] still in the morning on the topic”, says Ribeiro, referring to the interview given by the psolist to BandNews.

Ribeiro states that it is the mayor of São Paulo and his party who “try to cover up the immoral and cowardly support for the coup in São Paulo”.

He refers to Nunes’ statements that he will attend the event called by Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for February 25, on Avenida Paulista. The demonstration was proposed as a reaction to the Federal Police investigation that targets a coup attempt to keep Bolsonaro in the Presidency. The anti-democratic plot would have been discussed before and after the 2022 elections.

“There’s no point trying to hide in the photo on Avenida Paulista. Nunes is Bolsonaro’s tchutchuca. In the name of transparency and democracy, the mayor has the obligation to make clear to the people of São Paulo his commitment to the former coup president and militia member” , concludes the PT member.
