PT pressures Tarcísio for consulting contracts – 04/18/2023 – Panel SA

The pressure from the PT leadership in Alesp (São Paulo Legislative Assembly) grew on the Tarcísio de Freitas government because of the signing of contracts with the IFC (International Finance Corporation) to provide consultancy in the studies of concessions for Sabesp, CPTM, in addition to three other projects in the area of ​​mobility.

In a request registered at Alesp, the leader of the party in the House, Paulo Fiorilo (PT-SP), states that the contracts exceed R$ 90 million. The PT’s technical area raised the figures after consulting the information system on the State’s budgetary execution. There are recorded commitment notes issued on behalf of the IFC for consultancy in a new round of road concessions (R$ 29 million), specialized services (R$ 39 million) and concessions in the mobility sector (R$ 23 million), all linked to to the Secretariat of Metropolitan Transport.

The deputy wants information about the object of the contracts, execution period and contracting terms.

Last week, the government published, without bidding, the contracting of the IFC for concession studies on CPTM trains on lines 10-Turquesa, 11-Coral, 12-Safira, 13-Jade and the future line 14-Onyx worth BRL 71 million. Tarcísio also contracted the IFC to enable the privatization of Sabesp in the amount of R$ 45.6 million, as anticipated by the Panel column.

The new contracts are not yet included in the Transparency Portal, and the government only indicates the payment of the IFC to enable the concession of the Rodoanel Norte, signed in 2021 in the amount of R$ 656 thousand.

Sought by Panel SA, the government of São Paulo did not respond.
