PT increases pressure on Tarcísio against concessions – 04/19/2023 – Panel SA

Deputy Luiz Fernando Teixeira (PT-SP) filed with Alesp (Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo) this Wednesday (19) yet another request questioning the contracts of the Tarcísio de Freitas government with the IFC (International Finance Corporation) to prepare concession.
Pressure from the opposition has intensified in recent days with other requests with similar content filed by PT deputies. They ask for information about the contracts for the studies of Sabesp and CPTM projects.
On Tuesday (18), Emídio de Souza (PT-SP) asked for access to all correspondence exchanged between the Tarcísio administration and the IFC. Weeks before, the congressman obtained in the TCE-SP (Court of Auditors of the State of São Paulo) the suspension of the beginning of the privatization process of Emae (Metropolitan Water and Energy Company).
Last week Paulo Fiorilo (PT) asked for data on three contracts included in the government’s budget system.
In a note to Panel SA, the Secretariat for Partnerships in Investments said that the IFC is one of the largest multilateral agencies in the world and works on projects for structuring PPPs, concessions and privatizations in governments of several countries.
