The national president of PSOL, Paula Coradi, says that the party is not concerned about the link made by opponents between the party’s administration in Belém and Guilherme Boulos’ campaign in São Paulo.

The thesis explored by Boulos’ opponents is that the PSOL does not have the capacity to govern, which would be demonstrated by the problems faced by Mayor Edmilson Rodrigues in the capital of Pará.

“It will not harm Boulos’ campaign because, in addition to being cities with different geographic, demographic and socioeconomic profiles, Belém city hall has a very different financial reality than that found in São Paulo”, he states.

The leader adds that the largest city in the country “has problems that could be solved if it weren’t for the incompetence of the current mayor [Ricardo Nunes]which doesn’t even meet its narrow target plan, even with R$30 billion in cash.”

Much of the wear and tear faced by Rodrigues is due to problems faced in garbage collection. According to Coradi, the city of Belém chose to definitively resolve the problem. “The city hall opened a tender that had never been done in the city’s history, where there were only emergency contracts lasting up to one year,” he says.

She also says that PSOL “is not ashamed of its political positions nor of its members and allies”.

“Now the current mayor pretends that he does not want to make São Paulo a hub for the extreme right, but he brings into management politicians aligned with Bolsonarism, who have left the country with nothing but misery and death and who are now settling in the capital of São Paulo” .
