PSOL goes to the STF to overturn the Covid-19 vaccine exemption in SC

PSOL sued the Federal Supreme Court (STF) through an Allegation of Noncompliance with Fundamental Precepts (ADPF) against the decision of the state government of Santa Catarina (SC) not to charge teachers and children for proof of Covid-19 vaccination for entry into schools.

The decision not to require proof of inoculation was announced by the state governor, Jorginho Mello (PL), at the beginning of this month. More than 30 SC mayors also joined the measure and decided not to push for the inoculation of children and teachers.

In addition to respecting individual freedom and parental authority, the managers’ decision takes into account constant medical warnings about the risks associated with the “immunizer” and the fact that children and adolescents are not considered risk groups.

Immunization was imposed by the Lula government at the end of last year in a technical note from the Ministry of Health to the National Vaccination Calendar, making the vaccine mandatory for children based on the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA).

“The situation of widespread, massive and widespread violation of these fundamental precepts is extremely serious, given the known dangers of Covid-19, a disease that has ravaged humanity in recent years. Furthermore, considering the aforementioned municipalities, we are talking about some of the largest cities in the State of Santa Catarina, totaling, according to IBGE data reported, a population of more than three million people”, says an excerpt from the PSOL action.

The party also criticizes alleged “misinformation” on the topic. PSOL states that the vaccines are not “experimental” and deny the relationship, already admitted by the pharmaceutical companies themselves, between the serums and cases of myocarditis, thrombosis, fibromyalgia and other serious problems.

Ignoring the risks and medical warnings about compulsory vaccination, the PSOL accuses the mayors and the governor of putting more than 3 million people at risk.

“The conduct of the mayors of these 31 cities in Santa Catarina, as well as the Governor’s disinformation talk, are putting more than 3 million people at risk, who are directly exposed to the severity of Covid-19 in the face of the widespread misinformation that has taken over public authorities. of Santa Catarina”, said PSOL.

At the beginning of the month, the PSOL state directory in Santa Catarina filed a lawsuit to suspend a decree by the mayor of Blumenau (SC), Mário Hildebrandt (Podemos), which waives the mandatory vaccination of children against Covid-19 .
