PSOL deputy is accused of employing José Rainha’s wife in her office

During the installation and election meeting of the MST’s CPI, federal deputy Sâmia Bomfim (PSOL-SP), who is part of the commission, was questioned by the press about having allegedly appointed Diolinda Alves de Souza, the leader’s wife, to work in her office. of the National Front of Country and City Struggles (FNL), José Rainha. This may generate a conflict of interest, since Sâmia is a member of the CPI.

The TV Câmara recording did not capture images or audio of the conversation, but the interaction was reported into the microphone by federal deputy Ricardo Salles (PL-SP). A People’s Gazette was unable to contact Sâmia Bomfim’s office until the closing of this report.

According to Salles, Sâmia would have been asked if there was no conflict of interest on her part, since the deputy, a member of the CPI of the MST, nominated the wife of the leader of the FNL, in April of this year. In 2003, Diolinda was arrested after being convicted of forming a gang.

Since March 4, 2023, José Rainha, Diolinda’s husband, has been preventively arrested, following operations by the Civil Police of São Paulo, which accuses him of extorting six victims, demanding financial advantages. With Zé Rainha and Luciano de Lima, another FNL leader, two 556 caliber rifles, two 12 caliber shotguns and a 357 caliber rifle were seized.

Earlier, during the opening of the CPI, Sâmia questioned, through a matter of order, the chairman of the commission, federal deputy Lieutenant-Colonel Zucco (Republicanos-RS) about the conflict of interest and the alleged crimes committed by the former minister. of the Environment, Ricardo Salles. Sâmia pointed out that Salles would be accused of corruption and criminal organization. The point of order made by Sâmia was rejected by President Zucco.

In a note sent to the report, Sâmia Bomfim stated that “Diolinda has been an activist and leader of the struggle for agrarian reform for many decades and, in the Pontal do Paranapanema region, she organizes the demands and initiatives of our mandate. We are very proud of the work developed by her in the region.

At the end of the CPI installation meeting today, a woman approached me claiming to be from a blog that publicized and supported the struggle for agrarian reform and requested an interview for the aforementioned vehicle. To my surprise and that of my team, during the interview, the alleged reporter – who did not present identification from the Chamber, as required by the Legislative Police – started to try to enter into empty provocations.

After finishing the interview, we asked the Legislative Police to demand identification of the woman, as is required of all press professionals, visitors or advisors, and we left the plenary”.
