With one of its ministers in the eye of the hurricane because of the blackout registered in part of the country this week, the PSD has been signaling behind the scenes that it feels discredited by the government, especially when negotiations take place to contemplate PP and Republicans

In addition, party leaders say there is difficulty in fulfilling agreements made with the government.

The main focus of dissatisfaction is the delay related to Funasa (National Health Foundation). Before the beginning of the Lula government, the PSD had expressed interest in commanding the body and Conab (National Supply Company), until then subordinated to the Ministry of Agriculture, which was with Senator Carlos Fávaro, from the PSD.

However, in the provisional measure for restructuring the Esplanada, the party had two bad surprises: Conab was transferred to the MDA (Ministry of Agrarian Development), and the government proposed the extinction of Funasa.

In the first case, the change was maintained, and the command of the company remained with PT candidate Edegar Pretto. In the second, Congress managed to keep Funasa functioning.

Since then, the PSD has demanded the command of the organ. In a document dated last Wednesday (9), PSD leaders in the Chamber, Antonio Brito, and in the Senate, Otto Alencar, formalized to Minister Alexandre Padilha (Institutional Relations) the appointment to Funasa of the party’s president in Ceará, Domingos Son.

The officialization of the election takes place in the midst of a move by Deputy Aguinaldo Ribeiro (PP-PB) and Senator Daniella Ribeiro (PSD-PB) to try to placate the mother of both, Virgínia Velloso.

According to PSD parliamentarians heard under reservation, if that happens the climate will be very bad with the government. The party would see as discredit the nomination of two parliamentarians to overcome the suggestion of a bench that, they say, gave votes and support to the government from the beginning.
