Prosecutor demands apology from the Union for September 7 under Bolsonaro – 02/27/2023 – Power

The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office filed this Friday (24) a public civil action against the Union for the political use in favor of former President Jair Bolsonaro of the official Independence Day festivity promoted by the Ministry of Defense in Rio de Janeiro.
In the action, the Attorney General’s Office asks that, in case of conviction, the Union be obliged to carry out a “public apology ceremony” with the participation of the Armed Forces.
The MPF also requests that the Union identify those responsible for the diversion of the event and open disciplinary proceedings if necessary.
The action does not target former minister Paulo Nogueira or any of the commanders of the Army, Navy and Air Force at the time.
