Projects focused on inclusion, health and leisure advance at CMM

Among the agendas of the President of the House is the project that benefits People with Disabilities

Manaus (AM) – Three Bills by the mayor of Manaus (CMM), councilor Caio André (PSC) were deliberated and voted on by the councilors of the Legislative House this Monday morning (12). The articles deal with subjects ranging from the creation of the Municipal Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to the municipal hair donation campaign for people undergoing cancer treatment.

The Project to Amend the Organic Law of the Municipality of Manaus (Loman) proposes the inclusion of the Municipal Council for the Rights of People with Disabilities in the Municipal Council for Urban Development, so that it can participate in activities, debates and decision-making.

“The relevance is given by the way he will manage the care of this part of the population, which unfortunately needs help. This is a problem that has been dragging on for centuries and we need to change this scenario, this project is going to meet that solution”

highlighted Caio André.

The proposition was deliberated by the councilors and, under nº 004/2023, went to the 2nd Committee on Constitution, Justice and Writing of the CMM.

Another project authored by Caio, which changes the wording of article 361 of the Organic Law of the Municipality of Manaus (Loman) for investments in sport and leisure, was discussed in the Plenary Session this Monday.

In its wording, project nº 001/2023 says: “the municipality will allocate resources and invest in sport and community leisure and will encourage the private sector to adopt the same procedure, prioritizing, in the first case, participatory sport and adding initiation sport and educational”.

The project followed the 3rd Finance, Economy and Budget Commission.

Health

Also authored by the president of CMM, Bill No. 016/2023, which seeks to institute a municipal campaign to encourage the donation of hair for making wigs, followed the 3rd Commission on Finance, Economy and Budget.

Caio André points out that the project was designed to directly assist women in socially vulnerable situations who face the disease.

“Our concern is relevant, mainly because associations need incentives to maintain activities. These spaces deal directly with women undergoing cancer treatment, this view of the Legislature is essential. In addition to the physical improvement with this help, patients leave with renewed self-esteem and this contributes a lot to the treatment, this is the objective of the project”
