Project stands out for its innovation in architecture

Manaus (AM) — The design of the Botânica Office, an Engeco project under construction on Avenida Darcy Vargas, Zona Centro-Sul, is the most innovative in architecture in Manaus. But in addition to its functionality as a corporate environment, the nature-inspired project also stands out for its unique beauty. This helps to decorate the city and attract the world’s attention to the Amazon region, encouraging tourism, as is the case in other countries.

There are cities that become touristy precisely because of their architecture. According to the study Tourism and Modern Architecture, by Sebrae (Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Businesses), when a place offers a particular and attractive architectural configuration, a tourist experience is created almost spontaneously.

“Iconic buildings and urban interventions play a fundamental role in creating tourist attractions”,

highlights the e-book.

Even before it is completed, the Botânica Office already demonstrates this potential. A recurring comment about the project is that it seems like something out of Brazil, reminiscent of international developments, such as in Singapore, where the CapitaSpring Tower surprises with an urban forest on its 51 floors. Or in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where Clearpoint Residences not only purifies the air but also saves water. Milan, Italy is also home to the Bosco Verticale Towers, removing 15 to 17 tons of CO₂ annually. Soon, the Botânica Office will join this select group of architectural projects that have become true tourist icons.

The CEO of Engeco, Porfírio Saldanha, explains that the venture was designed to be a pioneer in Manaus.

“The program, above all, was to create an innovative product that would bring the quality of coexistence to the market. That people work in an environment that provides emotional and social balance and interaction with nature”,

highlights.

According to architect Laurent Troost, who signed the project together with Vitor Pessoa, the Botânica Office was designed during the pandemic, encouraging social interaction. Its aesthetics were designed to bring something that does not exist in other corporate environments in Manaus.

“Botânica Office has four facades and four types of rooms with many advantages. The view, the sunlight and the format. The shading generated by the plants will filter the light and avoid the use of some type of enclosure that would require the electricity to be turned on, for example. On the other hand, the glass will be more transparent than a conventional building. The biophilic system adapts very well to the climate of Manaus, more than other cities in the country”,
