Process for trainer’s punch in Pedro is closed – 08/29/2023 – Sport

The lawsuit brought by striker Pedro against Pablo Fernández, former physical trainer of Flamengo, was closed this Tuesday (29), after hearing at the Special Criminal Court of Belo Horizonte.

The action was opened by the player exactly one month ago, when the athlete was punched by the former member of Jorge Sampaoli’s coaching staff after the Red-Black team’s 2-1 victory over Atlético Mineiro, at the Independência stadium, for Brazilian championship.

The trainer, who ended up being fired by the Gávea team, personally apologized to the striker, who in turn withdrew from continuing with the process due to a slight bodily injury.

Pablo Fernández went to Belo Horizonte this Tuesday, alongside his lawyers, while Pedro and his representatives participated in the hearing via the internet.

To the website ge.globo, the professional said he was relieved with the outcome of the process and that he spoke with Pedro.

“It was simply a fatality that caused damage to many people, especially to me and Pedro. Today I had the opportunity to personally apologize, and everything is clear. I think it was the right time to end this situation”, he said. Fernandez.

On July 29, when he was attacked in the Independência locker room, the attacker went to the police station to file a complaint. At the time, he underwent a medical examination, which showed injuries to his face and mouth.

“Analyzing the body examination report and delict, there was a slight injury,” said Marcelo Cruz, Pablo Fernández’s lawyer. “Before eventually starting the procedural march, this criminal transaction is made. This possibility of composition between the parties is made. What happened as expected: both Pablo and Pedro reached an agreement. Both understood that it was an occasional fact in the their life.”

Despite the closure of the process, Flamengo is still experiencing tense days. On the eve of playing in the final of the Copa do Brasil, against São Paulo, coach Jorge Sampaoli has his work questioned, while the club’s president, Rodolfo Landim, is under pressure to dismiss the coach.

The representative, however, has been resistant to the idea of ​​​​disconnecting the commander in just over two weeks for the first game against the São Paulo team, scheduled for September 17, in Maracanã.

The return match is scheduled for the 24th, at the Morumbi stadium. For now, Landim understands that any change in technical command could further destabilize the cast.
