President of Sebrae in Amapá integrates government and Sebrae Nacional agenda at COP 28 – News of Brazil

The president of the Deliberative Council of Sebrae in Amapá and alternate senator, Josiel Alcolumbre, is part of the governor’s delegation Clécio Luís, and the president of Sebrae Nacional, Décio Lima, at COP 28 – in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, between November 30th and December 12th.
Sebrae presents itself as a strategic institution in the discussion, as it represents more than 15.4 million small businesses in the country, which must play a fundamental role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and implementing more sustainable practices.
Josiel Alcolumbre sees that the COP is the main strategic event for Amapá to position its values and competitive advantages to the world, as Brazil will host, in 2025, COP 30, the first in the Amazon.
“We are the most preserved state in Brazil, with rich and abundant biodiversity; we have the largest forest park in the world and the largest freshwater river in the world. Due to these and other attributes, we are working to make Amapá the sub-host of the Amazon COP in 2025, which will be held in Belém. In this way, we will attract a strong economic movement to the state that will directly benefit small businesses linked to the tourism chain , in addition to drawing the attention of international actors to our territory and its potential”highlights the president.
Sebrae Agenda
Josiel Alcolumbre and the president of Sebrae Nacional, Décio Lima, will be together on December 9th, at the Panel – Centrality of Small Businesses in Climate Governance, which will feature the participation of multinational companies, such as Petrobras, and multinational entities linked to the energy sector. Sebrae will share a space in the Blue Zone at COP28 with the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). Between the 1st and 12th of December, it will be part of several technical panels with the participation of climate and business experts, in addition to presenting startups working in the bioeconomy sector in at least nine meetings.
Organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), the Brazil Pavilion will have an exclusive program to present successful national cases, celebrate partnerships and promote debates.
Performance
Sebrae has five reference hubs that address the topic of energy, sustainability and bioeconomy for small businesses: Renewable Energy Hub, Onshore Oil and Gas Hub, Offshore Oil and Gas Hub, Sebrae Sustainability Center and Bioeconomy Hub.
Innova Amazonia
The program is a strategy focused on promoting, supporting and developing small businesses, startups, ventures and innovative ideas aligned with the bioeconomy that are premised on direct or indirect action for the conservation and sustainable use of the biome’s biodiversity resources.
