Presidency uses official channel to broadcast live from Janja – 06/29/2023 – Panel

The Secretariat of Communication of the Presidency of the Republic (Secom) used an official WhatsApp transmission list, through which the federal government’s agendas and notes are informed, to broadcast live from First Lady Rosângela Silva, Janja, this Thursday- fair (29).

After contacting the Panel, Secom admitted a mistake and said that the practice will not be repeated.

Janja spoke with influencer Nath Finance about the Desenrola program, for renegotiating debts, in a broadcast made on her personal Instagram account. Finance Minister Fernando Haddad participated in part of the conversation.

The WhatsApp broadcast list was used in two moments. First, at 12:37 pm, there was a reminder of the live “Papo de Respect” and the announcement of a special guest. Then at 18:12, there was a statement that the program was already being broadcast.

By the end of the broadcast, the live audience hovered around 1,100 listeners.

Janja resumed on Monday night (26) the lives project “Papo de Respect”, in which she invites authorities and personalities to address various topics, but avoided using official government channels to broadcast the conversation.

The first time, in March, she talked about tackling violence against women with Minister Cida Gonçalves (Women) and presenter Luana Xavier, and was criticized for using official government channels to retransmit the conversation.

The chat was relayed by the profiles on the social networks of TV Brasil, the public communication vehicle of the EBC (Empresa Brasil de Comunicação).

In a note, Secom stated that the WhatsApp channel is a relationship and outreach group for journalists that already existed in the transition.

“In the community, various information and materials are shared, including links to interviews that also take place on unofficial channels. In any case, it was a mistake and the practice will not be repeated.”
