The presenter underwent his second transplant in a period of 6 months

Presenter Fausto Silva, 73 years old, was hospitalized at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein in São Paulo on Sunday (25) to undergo a kidney transplant that took place uneventfully this Monday (26) according to a statement released by the hospital.

The surgery was performed 6 months after the heart transplant the presenter underwent last year.

“Patient Fausto Silva was admitted to Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein on February 25 to prepare for a kidney transplant, due to the worsening of chronic kidney disease, after Einstein was contacted by the Transplant Center of the State of São Paulo and an assessment of the compatibility of the donated organ was carried out. The surgery took place, uneventfully, yesterday morning (26). The patient will remain under observation to monitor the adaptation of the organ and clinical control”,

says a note released by the hospital.

According to sources, the presenter had been suffering from kidney problems since last year and had been on the transplant list for approximately 2 months.
