Draw carried out by CONMEBOL placed Brazil in Group A; tournament starts on January 20th in Venezuela
CONMEBOL held this Friday (20) the draw for the groups for the Pre-Olympic Tournament, in Venezuela. In Group A of the competition that guarantees two places at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the Brazilian team will face Venezuela, Colombia, Bolivia and Ecuador. Group B will feature Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile and Peru.
The competition will be played from January 20th to February 11th, in the cities of Caracas, Valencia and Barquisimeto.
In the first phase, the five teams from each group face each other in an all-against-all format. The two best placed in each group advance to the final quadrangular. In the end, the first two qualify for the Paris Olympics, with the leader being crowned champion.
The Brazilian team is the current two-time Olympic champion (Rio-2016 and Tokyo-2020).
