PP criticizes list of vice-presidents taken by Valdemar to Nunes – 01/30/2024 – Panel

The PP reacted this Tuesday (30) to the list of names presented by the president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, to the mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), to compose his ticket as vice president.

Four possibilities were suggested by Valdemar, two from the PL – PM colonel Ricardo Mello Araújo and delegate Raquel Gallinati and two from the Republicans – state deputy Tomé Abduch and the state secretary for Women’s Policies, Sonaira Fernandes.

The PP should initially form part of Nunes’ alliance, but does not rule out launching its own candidate if it finds itself overlooked in the coalition.

President of the party in the city of São Paulo, federal deputy Fausto Pinato said it was “absurd” that the list excludes the party.

“This imposition by Valdemar Costa Neto and former president Bolsonaro to demand that the name of the vice-president in São Paulo must only come from the PL or the Republicans is absurd, neglecting our Progressive Party to participate in a legitimate dispute with research”, he stated.

As the Panel showed, Nunes stated that she intends to do research to help decide the name of her running mate.

“I repudiate this imposing stance of passing over cadres who supported him [a Nunes] and are left out in the selection process”, says Pinato.

Among the names that the PP suggests are state deputy Delegado Olim and federal Coronel Telhada.
