Posts on social networks prepare for the next platforms – 01/29/2023 – Education

Graduate courses that focus on efficient communication on social networks undergo constant updates, following the dynamics of platforms.

The latest target of attention is TikTok, a Chinese network of short videos with more than a billion users. Ideally, when entering an educational institution, the student should be prepared to deal not only with what is in vogue at the moment, but also with what will come next.

“The tool itself is perishable. Thoughts last longer. The issue of the network itself always stands out”, says André Miceli, coordinator of the graduate program in marketing and digital media at FGV (Fundação Getúlio Vargas).

The course, therefore, talks about them, but it is not about them. “We have new technologies and innovation all the time. The objective is for the student to deal with the digital marketing ecosystem”, says Miceli.

Created at the end of 2019 through a merger of marketing and digital business courses, the post changes a lot from one year to the next. “We leave a space on the grid for professors to bring to the classroom the latest in each tool. Our work is dynamic. Professors update the disciplines recurrently to portray what has just happened”, says the coordinator.

Graduated in advertising in the interior of São Paulo, 28, he moved to the capital of São Paulo seeking to evolve in his career. He saw social networks as a growing area where he could carve out space. To enter this market, he signed up for the ESPM graduate course in digital media.

After a few months of the course, he got a job as a communication assistant for a digital content producer, being responsible for managing their platforms.

“Without the post, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do today. I learned that even the way people drag the mouse brings relevant information”, says Meneguetti.

The ESPM course emerged shortly after the pandemic isolation period and has already undergone some changes. “Influencer marketing was a class, then it became a discipline. It deals with how to work with influencers, using them as another media channel”, says Bruno Peres, course coordinator.

The post at the institution is flexible. Students can attend classes in person or online, switching from one form to another whenever they wish. “More and more you are going to have hybrid jobs. Education also has to be like this”, says Peres.

One of the pioneers in the field in Brazil, Senac’s digital media communication management program (Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Comercial) began receiving students in 2010.

“It’s a hands-on course [na prática] aimed at the market and has already gone through six updates. That is why it is very important that our teachers are also in the market”, says Cátia Lassalvia, coordinator.

She says that, in these 13 years, she has seen professionals in almost all training areas in classrooms.

“There was a veterinarian who was making social networks for pets, a geologist who wanted to disseminate content in the area. There are always people in the area of ​​communication and a group that is growing is digital entrepreneurs. This variety is very cool, because they help each other. The knowledge complements each other.”

The area, which is on the rise, has room for everyone who is well prepared, says the coordinator.

“The market has warmed up again. I receive requests for referrals all the time. But the important thing is strategic thinking. If you bring a 15-year-old boy, he will dominate some media that I’ve barely heard of, but will he know how to assess whether it makes sense be in that media for my audience?”
